Official name and history
PineWay File Ltd is the registered business name. The practice was established in 2014 in Nottingham after two former distribution supervisors grew tired of wall charts that ignored how waves actually release on a busy apparel dock. Early work was redraws for East Midlands DCs; by 2018 the portfolio stretched to grocery fulfilment centres and 3PL multi-client sheds across England and Wales.
What we stand for
We believe a fulfilment KPI belongs on the floor where the decision happens. That means sightlines from the packing mezzanine, type large enough for a noisy hall, and definitions written in the same words supervisors shout across a bay. We refuse vanity metrics that look tidy in a board pack but never change a pick path.
How we work
Engagements are short, on-site, and opinionated. We visit, argue gently about measure definitions, draft boards, and revise once after night and day shifts have lived with the drafts. Clients keep the files; we do not lock numbers behind a login.
People
The Nottingham desk handles briefs, scheduling, and print production. Floor work is led by consultants who have stood on pick faces and docks — not by remote analysts guessing aisle lengths from a map.
Community and place
We are based at Office 9, 72 Placeholder Road, Nottingham ZZ9 9AA, and travel to sites by train or van depending on print volume. When peak season closes calendars, we hold reprint slots for existing clients first.
