Dock-to-stock: name the hand-off or keep arguing

Gate arrival, ASN match, and putaway are three clocks. Mixing them on one line invites the wrong blame.

Inbound teams inherit a “dock-to-stock” target that starts when the trailer books in and ends when the last carton hits a slot. Between those stamps sit ASN mismatches, quarantine holds, and putaway labour shortages. A single elapsed time cannot teach the morning huddle which hand-off failed.

Our dock-to-stock reviews draw three stages on one panel. Colour stays restrained; the win is the labels. Once goods-in and inventory control share stage names, labour conversations get shorter — even when the cartons still move slowly.

If your current clock is a single number, write down who stamps each event before you redraw. That list is half the commission.
